Naval Station Norfolk Child & Youth Programs Civilian Hiring Event
Navy Child & Youth Programs (CYP) at Naval Station Norfolk will hold a hiring event on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Non-Appropriated Fund Human Resources (NAFHR) office located at 1200 Fechteler Road in Norfolk, Virginia.
CYP provides all ages of care including Child Development Centers (6 weeks to 5 years of age), School-Aged Care (6 to 12 years) and Teen Programs (13 to 18 years). We are also hiring for our 24/7 Care Centers, which primarily serve military personnel who work non-traditional hours such as shift workers or watch standers so that they can balance the competing demands of family life and military readiness.
Eligible applicants must be age 18 and older with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED to be considered for full-time and flexible, direct care CYP positions. Operating hours at these facilities are 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. and shifts can include weekends, nights and special events.
The hiring event will include on-site qualifications screening, interviews, and Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) Human Resources orientation. Be prepared to stay as needed as tentative hire letters will be issued the same day. All applicants should bring their resume, a photo ID card, SSN card, certifications (CPR, etc.), high school diploma/GED or official college transcripts if applicable, and bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit payments. CYP applicants are requested to bring three references or letters of recommendation (two professional, one personal).
